President Dilma Rousseff
Rousseff was taken to the OBAN
headquarters, the same place where Vladimir Herzog would
be tortured and killed five years later. She was allegedly tortured for 22 days
by punching, ferule, and electric shock devices.
Carlos Araújo was arrested on 12 August 1970. After Rousseff
was captured, he had an affair with actress and fellow militant Bete Mendes.
After his arrest, he met Rousseff on some occasions, during displacements
regarding the military lawsuits both were being prosecuted for. The fact that she survived all of the tortured and now she is the president is kind of amazing. Most people would have given up on life and focussed on mental stability.

Angela Merkel
Angle Merkel was a former research scientist and now is the chancellor
for Germany. She has been the chancellor since 2005. Merkel is said to be one
of the most powerful women in the world. Merkel was appointed Secretary-General
of the CDU, a key position as the party was no longer part of the federal
government. Merkel oversaw a string of CDU election victories in six out of
seven state elections in 1999, breaking the long-standing SPD-Green hold on the
Bundesrat. Following
Merkel's election as CDU Leader, she enjoyed considerable popularity among the
German population and polls indicated that many Germans would like to see her
become Chancellor Gerhard Schroder's main challenger in the 2002 election. However she was subsequently outmanoeuvred politically by
CSU Leader Edmund Stoiber, to whom she
eventually ceded the privilege of challenging Schröder.

In class today we reviewed some turms for the test that is on Friday. Mr Schick just let us know what was going to happen. While we where talking about push and push forces he started pushing and pulling the desk back and forth around the room. He got really quiet all the sudden and then he like yelled my name and asked me a question. I jumped I was not expecting it at all, but it was fun. I have to say I look forward to that class every day!!

Class Friday
On Friday we watched this really deep video about politics and the US. When everyone first got to class no one was talking and everyone was half sleeping, but after this video people started to wake up and be like wait I don't agree with that or well I have an input on this. So we discussed what we thought about the government and if we thought that where making the right decisions for America. Everyone had a lot to say. No one got angry or felt bad about anything we all kind of worked together and all said what we thought.
