Slum-dog Millionaire is a movie about a boy that grew up in the slums of India. He wins a million dollars on a game show and the police people think that he cheated so they are torturing him to make him say how he cheated even though he didn't. He knows the answer because he grew up in the slums and know from his life memories.

Cultural Background

There are many different names for "soda" (soft drink). Generic names for soft drinks can very by county. Some examples of names of soft drink are pop, coke, soda, and other things. The area that we live in mainly calls it soda. People with different backgrounds that are moving together still use the lingo that they learned from where they used to live. That is a big part of Cultural background. Cultural Characteristic are parts of a groups everyday life. They are the ideas and themes which the groups will teach to all members. These same characteristics can also link or divide a region. All of these things are being taught to you by the people around you. Some examples are language, religion, and ethnic heritage.

Class

Worked in partner and picked put songs that reminded us about america and being free. My partner was Sophia and we found 5 songs so far. I love that we get to use Sotify in class now. Thanks Mr. Scick

Class

Class was pretty chill today. Mr.Schick discussed what went wrong with the power point. Then we went and did our own thing. We all studied and help each other if anyone had any questions. We also asked Mr. Schick questions.

Class

In class today we did a bunch of different things. We talked about are test that’s coming up on Wednesday. They Mr. Schick told us about all of his classes that he teaches. We are obviously the best because we have the best debates. Then we talked about all the stuff that is happening in Mexico and how there President just left and went to China. It’s crazy how all of those kids died for something that maybe wasn't even going to happen.

The Play

I am in the play High School Musical at the John Carroll school, and I am loving it. I haven't been in any classes recently.

Class

In class we all worked on our power point and no one was ready so he gave us an extra day. Are power point looks pretty good to me. I hope Mr.Schick likes it too cant wait for hi to see it.

We went into our groups and worked on our power points. my group is done but we just have to tweak some things. I think we are solid, but I'm nervous to see what's going to happen.
