The crude birth rate is the number of births per 1000 of the population. The crude death rate is the number of deaths per 1000 of the population. The rate of natural increase RNI is important. The RNI is produced by subtracting the number of deaths by the number of births. This gives us the annual growth rate in percentage form for a country or region.
